The Best Worst Movies of 2012

Dec 26, 2012 Comments

Frankenweenie, a best worst movie of the year? Yes and no. Frankenweenie’s reason for making the list is purely personal. It may not be Tim Burton at his best per se, but the film is certainly up there, showing off a wildly enjoyable scenario with downright incredible stop-motion animation work. But, animated or not, I simply just cannot handle dog deaths.

I’d like to bet many shed a tear or two when Sparky lost his first life, but they likely recovered. As much as I wanted to enjoy every moment of what is a sweet and heartwarming film more than anything, catching sight of Sparky’s stitches and bolts cued the waterworks incessantly. Okay, it’s a little excessive, but come on, dog lovers, can you blame me?
